We would like to introduce a case study of the "CaniScan," a gender automatic identification device that has successfully led to reductions in time and costs while maintaining marine biological conservation. From the perspective of marine biological conservation, it is necessary to release crabs that are below a certain size or are female when shipping edible crabs. The identification of a large number of crabs, which is particularly difficult in determining gender, was previously done by hand, resulting in significant time and financial costs. By introducing our product that automatically identifies the gender of crabs using AI, we contributed to shortening the time from capture to shipment. Additionally, we achieved long-term monitoring of marine resources through the data collection of gender and size in the target marine areas.
